With a rich history of quality, well-made cars, BMW has established itself as one of the leading luxury car manufacturers in the world. They are known for being long-lasting, extremely comfortable, and incredibly safe. Whether you’re looking for a great family car or you want a fast, “cool” car for yourself, you simply can’t go wrong with a BMW. Let’s have a look at BMWs history.
As one of the more prominent German car manufacturers across the globe, BMW is hardly an underdog in the auto industry. Having a deep history of involvement in the production of engines for WWI machines, the company that is now known as BMW, or Bayerische Motoren Werke, didn’t quite begin making cars until the 1920s. And even given with the troublesome and difficult years during and after WWII, BMW survived and is obviously now prospering.
Nowadays, BMW is one of the most popular producers of luxury foreign cars on the market. Most folks who own a BMW say they would never want to own another car. BMW’s are known for their long-lasting engines, their safety, and of course, their luxury. In addition, lots BMWs can keep doing their job even after reaching and going beyond 300,000 miles; from everything we’ve seen, BMW owners rarely suffer from buyer’s remorse.
While BMWs are amazing cars and the majority of people would agree that their quality is almost unmatched, BMWs, just like any other car, have their own fair share of issues, especially when they reach a certain age and number of miles. Most average mechanics will either not know how to fix your Beamer, take way too long to repair it, charge you way more than they should, or any combination of the above. Your Import Car Doctor stands out in this way; we’ve got a great track record with BMWs and we know what we’re doing. Bring your beautiful BMW in when you need service!
In a world of German, American, and Japanese-made cars, Volvo stands out as an excellent option that was manufactured in Sweden. We all recognize the name “Volvo” when we hear it; we associate that name with quality, well-made engines, durability, and safety. Volvo has been a well-rated vehicle for almost a century, but do you know anything about how this Swedish car manufacturer began? Having started as a company that specialized in ball bearings, Volvo, which means “I roll” in Latin, was first registered as a trademark in the year 1911. Though the company saw mild success with this venture, in 1924, Assar Gabrielsson and a graduate of the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Gustav Larson, put their heads together and decided to start work on the first Swedish car. Their goal was to create a vehicle that could easily handle the rough terrain and freezing temperatures of Sweden.
With their first factory being set up in Gothenburg, Sweden, one of the country’s largest cities, the first Volvo car was completed in 1927. Another 280 vehicles were made that year and the very first truck, the “Series 1,” which was a fast success, was introduced the following year. Though the car sales picked up each year after its beginning, Volvo didn’t see attention from outside Sweden until after WWII. However, Volvo Trucks became known worldwide way before their cars ever got global attention. Through clever business mergers and incredibly successful partnerships, Volvo has become one of the most well-known automakers in the world and the second biggest producer of heavy-duty trucks.
You guessed it, Volvo isn’t the easiest car for the average Colorado Springs mechanic to work on. However, Your Import Car Doctor was born ready to work on your Volvo. With tons of experience and a record of quality Volvo repairs, choose us to become your next Volvo mechanic!
If you live in Northern Colorado or the Upper Northwest, you are more than used to seeing Subarus around. As one of the most popular cars in cities that have an influx of younger people who drive, Subaru has established itself as “the car of the millennial.” Young people love the Subaru and it’s not without good reason, they are long-lasting, spacious, comfortable, affordable, great on gas mileage, and an excellent family car. We’re always finding ourselves wondering what’s not to love.
Though other car manufacturers got their starts in the early 1900s, Subaru didn’t come around until the 1950s when a Japanese businessman, Kenji Kita, had an idea to start producing cars by his own company. The name “Subaru” is a Japanese word taken from the Pleiades star cluster and that significance is evident in the decal that is on the hood over every Subaru.
Their first car, the Subaru 1500, was produced in 1954 and was followed by newer models every few years until the integration of the boxer engine in 1965. Since its inception, Subaru has been a part of multiple business partnerships and alliances aiding to its steady growth and development. As of today, Subaru is one of the largest auto manufacturers in the world.
Since not all Subaru mechanics are created equal, make sure that you take your vehicle to the people who really know Subarus: Your Import Car Doctor. We have vast experience working on Subarus and we won’t fail you. Contact us for help with your Subaru repairs.
